- Serves: 4 persons
- ½ bunchthyme
- 300 gwhite flour
- 200 gwholemeal flour
- ½ cubeyeast
- 1 tspsalt
- 3 dlwater
- 2cervelat sausages
Step 1Finely chop the thyme, mix in a bowl with the flour, yeast and salt.
Step 2Pour in the water, mix, knead into a soft, smooth dough. Cover and leave to rise at room temperature for approx. 1½ hrs.
Step 3Thread each sausage lengthwise onto a stick, make a spiral incision using a knife but do not cut all the way through.
Step 4Divide the dough into 8 portions, shape into rolls approx. 40 cm long. Wrap one roll of dough loosely around each sausage. Wrap the remaining rolls of dough around 4 sticks (without sausages).
Step 5Grill the bread twists over/on a medium heat (approx. 200°C) for approx. 20 mins. on all sides, allow to cool slightly.
