Ingredients
- 400 gmulti grain flour
 - 50 gsunflower seeds
 - 1 tspsalt
 - 1 tspdry yeast
 - 2 ¾ dlwater
 - 2 tbspolive oil
 - 1 tbspwater
 - 2 tbspsunflower seeds
 - 90 gtomato and pepper spread
 - 50 ghead lettuce
 - 120 gsalami in slices
 - 150 gsemi-hard cheese
 - 2tomatoes
 - 4gherkins
 - 12green olives with pepper paste
 
Instructions
Step 1
Mix the flour, sunflower seeds, salt and yeast in a bowl. Pour in the water and oil, knead to form a soft, smooth dough. Cover and leave to rise at room temperature for approx. 1½ hrs.Step 2
Divide the dough into 12 portions, shape into round rolls, place on a tray lined with baking paper, cover and leave to rise for approx. 30 mins. Flatten the rolls slightly, brush with a little water, sprinkle with the sunflower seeds.Step 3
Approx. 30 mins. in the centre of an oven preheated to 200°C. Remove from the oven, leave to cool completely on a rack.Step 4
Halve the rolls crosswise; do not cut all the way through. Cover the cut surfaces with the tomato & pepper spread. Fill the rolls with the lettuce, salami, cheese, tomatoes and gherkins. Place olives on the rolls for eyes.
